Independent Republican Presidential Candidate and conservative blogger Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference Sunday afternoon to thank radio personality Rush Limbaugh for apologizing to law student Sandra Fluke. “I guess it’s a take on the old E. F. Hutton ad,” Andy Says. “‘When Andy Martin talks, Rush Limbaugh listens.’ Now that the apology is out of the way maybe we can now focus on whom Sandra Fluke is, how the Democrats promoted her as a ‘birth control witness,’ And how Fluke ‘punked’ the Republican Party (but not Andy Martin)”

(NEW YORK) (March 4, 2012) Independent Republican Presidential Candidate and conservative blogger Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference today, Sunday, March 4th to thank Rush Limbaugh for apologizing to a Georgetown University Law student who has become the Democratic Party’s latest stalking horse in the 2012 presidential campaign.
“In a take-off of the old E. F. Hutton ad (‘When E. F. Hutton talks, everyone listens’),” Andy says, “I asked Rush to issue a revision of his remarks and Rush issued an apology. I guess you could say that request was my first act of presidential leadership.
“While the other Republican presidential candidates were cowering and hiding from the media, I went up front and told Rush what he ought to do. And Rush did it. Thank you Rush Limbaugh. If I make it to the White House, you will always be welcome. I’m not so sure that will be the case with some of the other Republicans.
“Now that we have cleared the air and apologized for what everyone agrees was a poor choice of words, we should focus on Sandra Fluke and her ‘evidence.’ I am opening an investigation with Georgetown University into Fluke’s claims that it costs $1,000 per year for birth control for law students.
“I have not seen any evidence these pills would cost more than $250 a year. Fluke may have provided false evidence to congress and intentionally misled a government organization. That’s a potential felony.
“Rush’s remarks unfortunately occluded what he later realized were the real issues.
“First, in my opinion, where birth control pills are a medical necessity, they should be treated as a medical necessity under health insurance plans. Not everyone takes these pills to make whoopee. They take them out of medical necessity. I realize that Catholic institutions can still refuse to do so, but I would appeal to the church to consider revising its refusal to provide pills where there is a medical necessity. (I have personal experience with a friend who had a problem requiring these pills at a Catholic institution.)
“Second, should voluntary, recreational use of birth control pills be a federal entitlement? Here is where Ms. Fluke is a flake. There is no constitutional right to taxpayer-subsidized birth control for recreational purposes. I will have more to say about this in my remarks on Monday. But suffice it to say that when people want to obtain recreational drugs, there is no ‘right’ to do so at taxpayer expense, or by claiming ‘insurance companies’ will provide ‘free’ drugs at their stockholders’ expense by order of the Emperor Obama I. We may volunteer or elect to provide such medication but no one should be demanding free pills for recreation as a ‘constitutional right.’
“Reasonable people can disagree on this aspect of health policy and where we draw the lines.
“So who is Sandra Fluke? That’s the intriguing question. How did Democrats use Fluke to bamboozle congress and the Republican Party? Our investigation is continuing,” Martin will state Sunday afternoon.
